Continuing late father’s legacy, son donated $1 million to support Sian Chay’s benevolent service.

On 15th of June at Pan Pacific Hotel, Sian Chay Medical Institution accepted a donation of SGD $1million from Mr. Lim Oon Cheng, who at the same time promised to dedicated some time as a volunteer to assist Sian Chay in the future development. Acting Minister of Education (Schools), Mr. Ng Chee Meng was invited as the Guest Honour to witness the cheque presentation and to present the trophy to Mr. Lim Oon Cheng.

At the ceremony, Minister Ng commented, “Special appreciation to Sian Chay Medical Institution for benefiting so many in the society. I hope I can joined hand with Sian Chay to install the value of benevolence to the young generation and do something for them. I believe this will influence and encourage more youngsters to serve and pay formed to the society, and to contribute to the development of our happy nation and pride of Singapore”

Chairman Toh Soon Huat thanked Mr. Lim Oon Cheng and his family for their kind thoughts. He said,”The donation of $1 million will benefit 100,000 patient visits,. Helping the poor to cure their sickness, will relief their families from both mental and financial burden from care giving.

Sian Chay Medical Institution now operates 11 branches, serving a daily average of 1000 patients. Two wellness centres (Sengkang South and Boon Lay), operates mobile library, various wellness games and fitness programs, have served more than 10,000 residents. The future plan will be the opening of Ang Mo Kio Branch, Marsiling Branch and Yio Chu Kang Branch. It is forecasted that Sian Chay will handled 345,000 patients visits (including internal medicine, acupuncture and Tuina cases)which entailing annual operating expense of  $5 million.

2017, Sian Chay planned to open two new branches at Punggol North and Moulmein, adding up to 16 clinics. The patient visits will reach 505,000, with expenditure more than $6 million for the patient visits and expenditure of $8 million.

Among the new branches, the Punggol North Branch located at Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC. The renovation of the Punggol North Branch was sponsored by EMBA of NUS Class 24 and Koufu Pte. Ltd. They were presented with a trophy by Mr. Ng Chee Meng also an MP of Punggol Paris Ris GRC. Ms Michelle Lu and Ms. Shen Xiaoyan received the token on behalf of EMBA24 which donated $233,806. Pang Lim, who donated $50,000 on behalf of Koufu Pte. Ltd., received the trophy.

Sian Chay Medical Institution is dedicated to five core values, “Forgiveness, Universal Love, Compassion, Gratitude and Blessings” and is supporting the nation to create a harmonious society.
